History

Our company began as a family business in 1971 in the South East of England. It grew steadily and at the request of existing clients expanded geographically.

Current deputy chairman Martin Jones, joined his father's firm in 1985 and had ambitious plans for it to develop into something unique in the Facilities Management industry. He believed that bigger corporate organisations were unhappy with the Facilities Management services they received from established players.

With a strong values driven approach, Martin grew the business to sales of £27m in 2007. Europa's objective to become a leading player in the market attracted the interest of Billy Allan, who in September 2006 invested in Europa with a 'management buy-in' team.

In 2008 Greig Brown became CEO of the company and the business entered a new phase with the acquisition of United Utilities FM. This brought with it a number of blue chip clients, entry into the local authority sector and a better geographical footprint. The deal also transformed Europa into an integrated FM service provider, able to manage and deliver a broad range of services through its technical, maintenance, cleaning and security personnel and its class leading service partners.

In 2009 Europa expanded its service offering with the acquisition of a leading workspace specialist company to offer a range of solutions including design and workspace consultancy, furniture sales and services and moves and project management. Following the 2009 year end Europa extended our activity within the public sector and established a presence in the Republic of Ireland through the opportunity to acquire certain elements of Operon Facilities Management.  In 2010 Europa further enhanced our total facilities management proposition through the acquisition of technical services company Nationwide Building Maintenance Services. 

During this time, Europa has worked positively with existing clients and seen significant growth in business by maintaining excellent relationships and securing new business.  Our company’s success is down to one factor – the quality of service delivered by our people.
