Europa continue expansion with acquisition of Operon

Europa has strengthened its FM business following the acquisition of key contracts and assets of the facilities management division of Integrated Building Services Engineering Consultants Limited, trading as Operon. The acquisition has seen Europa meet all outstanding salary commitments for 553 employees who transferred to Europa as part of the deal which completed 29 January 2010.

The new team will operate as part of Europa and continue to offer facilities management services to its existing clients from National and Local Government and includes Higher Education and Health.

The Operon acquisition is the second in a period of 8 months for Europa and is a further opportunity to progress the company’s business strategy. In early 2008 Europa acquired UUFM strengthening its capabilities and position in the utilities sector and in 2009 Europa acquired workspace solutions business Eastlake Work Group adjoining new value-add services to its existing offering. This deal supports the planned broadening of Europa’s service capabilities and strengthens its position in key market sectors.

Europa is now one of the largest independent UK facilities management companies with an annual turnover approaching £110m.
