The main aims of the 2010 Europa CSR and Sustainability policy have been:
- To continue the development of our sustainability offerings through the services we offer our clients during an extensive period of growth, with a focus on energy consumption and water saving technologies
- To share initiatives with the wider business community through our involvement in the Mayday network and the Business in the Community Taskforce on sustainable leadership
- A continual focus on ISO 14001 and the development and reduction of our social impacts. We have sought larger stakeholder engagement by developing links with the next generation through schools, universities and colleges through mentoring programs and opportunities to share where we are and what we could do next
- To progress the cultural and behavioral development of our people to place sustainability at the heart of the way they deliver services. We have done this through sustainability steering groups, communication of our ‘Small Green Steps’ programme to engage staff in the benefits of sustainable working practice, further environmental training and development and the initiation of a staff recognition scheme, myRewards, with the introduction of the ‘Green Star’ award.
- To ‘green’ our supply chain by undertaking a supplier review process that identifies and minimizes their impacts on society and the environment. We have sought to ensure that our sourcing of products and services takes into account both the upstream and downstream impacts, therefore minimising packaging, distance travelled and raw materials used
