A considerable amount of work has been carried out around the waste management aspects of our business. We have worked with suppliers and provided a number of our clients with increased recycling through the use of more localised recyclers and moving further towards a low carbon solution. This has been done through the use of materials recovery facilities (MRF) and the segregation of contaminated waste on clients’ sites. All of these changes have resulted in a rise of the recycling rate by over 13% to just over 50%. At certain sites we constantly achieved above 80% recycling rates and are working to replicate this for all our clients and to ensure that they are best placed to take advantage of the financial benefits from recycling.
